The Auto Channel Adds RV Buyer's Guide

Press Release:  New RVmotoring.com Section to be Web’s Most Comprehensive RV Site

TheAutoChannel logoLOUISVILLE, KY – January 4, 2007:   Just about everyone who is seriously interested in the automotive world knows that TheAutoChannel.com is the Internet’s most complete and comprehensive automotive information resource.  But now, auto enthusiasts, industry players, journalists and informed consumers will now have access to a wealth of previously unavailable data about the world of Recreational Vehicles, thanks to the addition of a major new section on The Auto Channel (TACH) website: RVmotoring.com.

TACH’s RVmotoring.com presents information from every major RV manufacturer and specifications, photos and floorplans of all models of new motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth-wheel trailers. Soon, the buyer’s guide will also include pop-up trailers and truck campers.

The new RV section features the same exclusive technology that TACH uses for its New Car Buyer’s Guide. Consumers can look up RV models by manufacturer, or rank RVs according to price, length, weight, and many other specifications.  TACH’s 4-Car Compar-A-Graph, which was the Internet’s first such multi-car comparison tool, is now applied to RV models, allowing users to simultaneously evaluate up to four RVs in a head-to-head comparison.

“Until now, RV buyers had never had such a comprehensive shopping guide, where consumers can look up a summary of any RV model, or rank motorized and towable RVs according to price, dimensions, amenities or a variety of specifications,” emphasized Dan Prescott, Editor of TACH’s new RV section. “We will keep growing and expanding RVmotoring.com to become the premiere RV online magazine, with news, articles, reviews, videos, useful information on financing, insurance, accessories, coverage of RV-related events, and much more.”

The new RVmotoring.com Buyer's Guide section can be accessed through either www.RVmotoring.com or via TACH’s homepage at www.TheAutoChannel.com.

Entering its twelfth year online, TheAutoChannel.com is one of the most popular and significant automotive websites. TACH has always led the automotive online parade: in streaming media; in database diversity and capability; and in textual content, with the largest collection of new vehicle reviews and general information.  In addition, TheAutoChannel.com has long been the information resource-of-choice for many automotive journalists and industry insiders. TACH has always included RV industry news in its extensive news section, but now features all of its RV information in the new RVmotoring section.

“RV ownership is an important part of the automotive scene, and our New RV Buyer’s Guide provides a tremendous amount of information to car, truck and RV enthusiasts,” said Bob Gordon, President and Co-Publisher of The Auto Channel.  “We strive to cover all aspects of the motoring experience, and we’re pleased to expand TACH’s reach with this major new RV section.”

“Moreover,” Gordon added, “my partner, Marc Rauch, and I are thrilled to be associated with Dan Prescott in this venture.  Not only is Dan a well known and respected member of the automotive community, he has always been a valued friend to us.”

Nearly one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now owns an RV, according to a 2005 study commissioned by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). That's nearly 8 million households–a 15 percent increase during 2001-2005 and a 58 percent gain during 1980-2005.
